Technology in the Classroom

  This technology that I have chosen is GoNoodle. This technology is a tool from D r. Wang’s PPT and it is specifically from the RQ2 technologies software list.   What it is: GoNoodle is a website that helps teachers get kids moving with short interactive activities. Teachers can select from a variety of topics and categories to find an engaging learning activity for their students to do.  Usage and what it's able to do:  GoNoodle is very easy to use. As a teacher you can log in with an account or just use the site freely. Students can also just use the site freely at home as well!  At the top of the website, there is a banner with different options to choose from. Teachers and students can click "topics" and discover different activities for different topics. These topics include food, cooking, music, dance, travel, adventure, outdoors, environment and many others. Teachers and students can also look at a variety of channels.  There are activities for differe

    National Geographic Kids has been used many times by my teachers in my own educational journey and that is why I have selected this technology.    Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLZrqBYVp1Q   What it is:     Teachers National Geographic Kids is an online website where teachers can search up information and facts about a variety of different things. Teachers can look for information about animals, geography, science and history. It is a great tool for teachers to show students information about different subjects in a fun and engaging way. Usage and what it's able to do:  This website is very easy to use. Teachers are able to discover information and facts about different subjects. There are different categories that appear under the "Discover" banner at the top of the website. The categories are animals, science, geography and history. Teachers and students can click around to discover information or they can search up a topic in the search bar. 

    This technology that I have chosen is Kahoot. This technology is a tool from D r. Wang’s PPT and it is specifically from the Top 15 software mentioned by Elementary vs Secondary teachers.    Video: What is Kahoot?   What it is: Kahoot is an online website where teachers can create quiz style games to help their students learn in a way that is engaging and fun. Teachers can create a quiz on lesson content and have students take the quiz while competing with their peers. Usage and what it's able to do:  Kahoot is a very easy tool to use in the classroom. As a teacher and student, all you have to do is login with a google account. After this, teachers can easily create a Kahoot quiz by clicking the button "Create".  Teachers can also choose from a variety of Kahoot quizzes for different subjects that are already created. Students can easily connect to the quiz and take it with a unique code. When creating a Kahoot quiz, you are able to add images and fun back

   Ed Puzzle is an educational website that I have chosen due to my own experience with it when I worked at a school.     What it is:    Ed Puzzle is an online website where educators can take YouTube videos and add questions throughout them for students to answer. It is a great tool to keep students engaged throughout the video content they are watching and to ensure understanding.   What is Ed Puzzle Usage and what it's able to do:  Ed Puzzle is very easy to use. As a teacher, all you have to do is create an account and enter what school you teach at. Once teachers are in, they can edit videos and embed questions. There is also a variety of selections in the teacher library for videos with questions already embedded in them that educators can share and use.  Students also just have to create an account and then enter their teacher's class code to get started on their assignments. Once they enter their class code, they are able to watch videos and answer questions

  This technology that I have chosen is Zoom. This technology is a tool from D r. Wang’s PPT and it is specifically from the Top 15 software mentioned by Elementary vs Secondary teachers.                  What it is:     This technology is a communicative platform that allows users to connect online for video conference meetings, webinars and live chat. Zoom provides students and teachers with a way to connect live without having to meet in person. How to join a zoom meeting Usage and what it's able to do:  Zoom is very portable. You can access zoom through any desktop or on any mobile device with an internet connection. This technology is easy to use for teachers and students. Teacher can host a zoom meeting by first logging into zoom with their google account. Then, they can click "host" and a zoom meeting with a unique link and code will generate. Teachers then can share this link or code with students who can enter the code or click the link and join the live

   The technology I have chosen is the  Promethean board. This technology is a tool that I have recently learned about and is being used more and more in classrooms today.   What it is:  The Promethean Board is an interactive whiteboard that allows you to project an image from a laptop or computer (sort of like a large tablet). Usage and what it's able to do:   The board can be connected to laptops or desktops or operate on its own. There are Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity options included in the board. External cameras or document cameras connected to a desktop can also work with Promethean Boards. No matter what you connect to the Promethean Board, you are able to display content to students on a big screen. The board includes ActivPanel, which are displays that allow you to draw, write, select or move objects around.
