GoNoodle (blog 11)

This technology that I have chosen is GoNoodle. This technology is a tool from Dr. Wang’s PPT and it is specifically from the RQ2 technologies software list.

What it is:

GoNoodle is a website that helps teachers get kids moving with short interactive activities. Teachers can select from a variety of topics and categories to find an engaging learning activity for their students to do.

Usage and what it's able to do:

  • GoNoodle is very easy to use. As a teacher you can log in with an account or just use the site freely. Students can also just use the site freely at home as well!
  • At the top of the website, there is a banner with different options to choose from. Teachers and students can click "topics" and discover different activities for different topics. These topics include food, cooking, music, dance, travel, adventure, outdoors, environment and many others. Teachers and students can also look at a variety of channels.
  • There are activities for different uses. There are breathing activities, guided dance activities, how to activities and many more. There are also classroom routines available on the website that include indoor recess routines,  class routines, bedtime routines, and many other routines as well for teachers to use.
  • This technology is very portable since all you need is an internet connection to use it.

I think I am very likely to use this technology in my future classroom. I really like how many different activities and routines there are to choose from. I also like how the activities get students moving and make learning fun.

Connection to TLC and TPACK:

GoNoodle connects to the TLC framework because this technology can be used to teach, learn and communicate. Students can learn different routines for school time and can learn activities during lessons that will increase their engagement. Teachers can also teach students with GoNoodle various dances or songs to help them learn lesson content. GoNoodle also provides teachers and students with a way to communicate because it is a portable website where all they both need is an internet connection.
