CHROMEBOOK LAPTOP

My first blog entry is about a tool from Dr. Wang’s PPT about T3PP results. The technology I have selected is Chromebook laptops and is specifically from the hardware list.

What it is

A Chromebook laptop is a type of computer that runs ChromeOS instead of Windows or macOS. This means Chromebooks are primarily designed to run Google apps like Google Docs, Google Slides and YouTube. It is also usually cheaper than a regular laptop. It can do most things that a regular laptop can do and it runs on the Google ChromeOS

Usage and what it's able to do:

Chromebooks are easy to use, they are lightweight and very portable. I believe the likelihood of using Chromebooks in my classroom is very high because it is a piece of technology that is very useful and provides a platform for all sorts of other technologies to be used by students like Google Docs, Google classroom and educational games like Kahoot.

Connection to TLC and 7 Events of Instruction:

In class we have been discussing the TLC framework which stands for teaching, learning and communication. This framework organizes our thoughts on technologies and the purposes they may serve. I think Chromebooks are a great tool for teaching and learning because Chromebooks provide a vast number of other technologies, like websites, to provide students with content to learn. I also think Chromebooks are a great tool for communication because there are countless ways that students can use Chromebooks to communicate like through emails. Another topic we have been discussing in class is the 7 events of instruction with technology. One of the instructional events is how you present the content. I believe Chromebooks are a great way to present content because the content gets to every student efficiently, it's in one place and it can be in the classroom or can go home with them.

  1. Hi Maquela,
Your post on Chromebooks was very informative and I liked that you included a video in your post. Chromebooks are a technology that I think most teachers will be incorporating into the classroom, they allow students to have access to a wide variety of other tools.
